It's 1979 and Clark Gable, has broken away from the claustrophobic environment of loving family and small town Dover to study at Red Brick College in Birmingham.

The punk / mod music scene is in full swing and Clark's chaotic passage through his first year of a 3 year engineering degree course is set to a backing track of The Jam, for him the lyrics are real and apply directly to his life.

Sex and drugs and pie and curry sauce are the main ingredients of Clark's new life and studying takes a back seat. Before long he finds himself short of money, in trouble with his girlfriend(s), mates, the Police and the College authorities and in danger of failing his first year.

Has he left it to late to change and get back on track?, will he find the love he's looking for?
